The Capital City Amphitheater in Cascades park attracts a variety of artists. Or, relax at one of the many beaches located in surrounding areas. About Tallahassee Community College:
Located just minutes away from the Florida State campus, on Appleyard Drive you will find Tallahassee Community College. TCC aims to prepare students to later transfer to university and to join the workforce. Their diverse community promotes intellectual, social, and personal development of students and encourages them to think critically, creatively, and reflectively. It is not uncommon for TCC students to transfer to university later. Over 70% of Tallahassee Community College students transfer to a four-year university. Students say that they feel better prepared, not just for the academic needs, but also for the university lifestyle after having studied at TCC. Tallahassee Community College was ranked number 8 in the Top Ten Community Colleges in America. They are also a top Military-Friendly College. In addition to this, they are a top producer of A.A. degrees, according to Community College Week. TCC boasts itself on more than just great academics. There is always something going on for TCC students. The college also works closely with Florida State, allowing students access to libraries and football tickets. Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, FAMU, is a historically-black, land grant university established in 1887, which later developed into the top historically black college or university in the nation.
